John Goodman reveals the one thing he still struggles with after losing 14 stone

Actor John Goodman has revealed he is still getting used to his face and body after losing 14 stone, nearly half his body weight, over the past decade through diet changes, increased exercise, and stomach surgery.

Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the Roseanne star explained that he tries to ignore public commentary regarding his appearance and admitted he wonders if his previous 28-stone weight was a form of self-sabotage in his career.

Goodman began his weight-loss journey in 2016 by cutting out sugar and snacks and working with a personal trainer, motivated by severe joint pain that eventually required both of his knees to be replaced.

In an interview with The Times, the actor reflected on using food for comfort as a child and recalled how being overweight unexpectedly saved him from being drafted into the army during the Vietnam War.

Despite admitting he still feels like a fat guy at times, Goodman noted that his dramatic physical transformation has given him a welcomed degree of anonymity in public and allowed him to buy clothes in regular shops.
