The stage adaptation of The Greatest Showman will arrive in the West End in spring 2027, it has been confirmed.
The Theatre Royal Drury Lane will host the production, with previews beginning on April 14 before an opening night on May 5. The run is scheduled to last almost five months, closing on October 2.
Tickets go on sale to the general public at 12 pm on November 18, with priority booking opening earlier, on November 3.
Casey Nicholaw will direct and choreograph the production, meanwhile, Oliver Tompsett will play Barnum and Samantha Barks will play his wife, Charity.
Further casting news includes Ben Joyce as Phillip Carlyle, Vajen van den Bosch as Jenny Lind and Malinda Parris as Lettie Lutz.
The show follows a sold-out run at Bristol Hippodrome earlier this year, which came ahead of its London premiere.
The musical will feature the Grammy Award-winning and Oscar-nominated songs by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, including “The Greatest Show”, “A Million Dreams”, “Come Alive”, “Rewrite the Stars”, “Never Enough” and “This Is Me”.
The Egot winners have also written new songs for the stage production
Its libretto was written by Tim Federle and is based on the film, which was itself based on a story by Jenny Bicks.
The production is the first 20th Century Studios title to be adapted for the stage by Disney Theatrical Group (DTG).
The 2017 period drama that inspired the show starred Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Michelle Williams and Zendaya, and took its inspiration from the life of Barnum & Bailey Circus creator, PT Barnum.
The synopsis for the show teases: “A restless maverick refuses the life everyone expects of him. Determined to build the greatest show on earth, he brings together those the world never expected to shine, creating something far bigger than he ever imagined.”
